The 25-year-old scored the opening goal and also provided assists for the other two goals, bringing his total Bundesliga goal tally to nine, along with five assists.
Marmoush found the net in the 27th minute with a well-placed shot from inside the area.
Eight minutes later, he set up substitute striker Ansgar Knauff for the second goal, and then provided another assist to the same player, resulting in the third goal in the 72nd minute.
In the final minutes of the game, Marmoush made way for Eric Ebimbe, but it was Freiburg's substitute striker Michael Gregoritsch who leveled the score in injury time.
Marmoush emerged as one of the standout Egyptian players in the recent Africa Cup of Nations, despite the disappointment of the Pharaohs exiting the tournament in the round of 16.
Frankfurt currently sit in sixth place in the league table with 33 points, 25 behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
