"The club's plane experienced an accident while preparing for takeoff from Accra airport," a statement on Ahly's official website explained.
“The aircraft is now unfit to fly, and with no alternative means of transportation available, it would be very difficult to play the game as scheduled on Friday," added the statement.
“The club has therefore approached CAF to request a postponement of the match.”
On Wednesday, Ahly's private jet encountered an accident on the ground when it stopped for fuel at Kotoka Airport in Accra before continuing to Kumasi where the game would be played on Friday.
Ahly leads Group D with six points.
They are closely followed by Belouizdad and Tanzania's Young Africans, who lie one point behind.
Medeama occupies the bottom spot in the group with four points.
