Pyramids FC currently find themselves at the bottom of Group A, with only four points, trailing three points behind the group leaders, TP Mazembe.
They kicked off their campaign in the Champions League group stage with a 1-0 home victory over TP Mazembe in the first round.
However, they suffered a setback against FC Nouadhibou of Mauritania, placing them in third position.
Then they experienced a 1-0 loss at home to second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa after two goalless draws in the third and fourth rounds.
The club's lacklustre performance in the continental tournament led to the departure of Portuguese coach Jaime Pacheco and the appointment of Croatian tactician Krunoslav Jurcic.
"I am well aware of the difficulties we will face against TP Mazembe, but I have confidence in the experience of Pyramids FC's players to achieve victory," said Jurcic during the pre-game press conference.
"Playing such a challenging match just ten days after taking charge of the team is not easy. However, we will remain focused on the game and strive to defeat TP Mazembe," he added.
Pyramids FC's encounter with TP Mazembe promises to be a decisive moment for the Egyptian side as they aim to turn their fortunes around in the CAF Champions League.
