The Cairo giants, already assured of a knockout stage berth after topping Group B, will face the Libyan side in their fifth group game at Algeria's 19th May Stadium on Sunday.

The 53-year-old boss acknowledged Abu Salim's physical prowess and long-ball tactics but vowed a dominant display from his team.

"We know they are a very strong team physically, known for long balls and throw-ins," Gomes said during Saturday's pre-match press conference.

"We respect them but also aim to play a good game and impose ourselves."

Despite missing several players to injury, Gomes did not use absences as an excuse.

"I focus on the available players - not those absent," he explained.

"We adapt and the remaining players can make up for the absences."

The White Knights have reinforced their squad during the winter transfer window with high-profile players, including Abdallah El-Said, Nasser Maher, and Seif Gaafar.

However, the trio are not eligible to play as they have already participated in African competitions with their previous clubs.

Still, Gomes downplayed any concerns about the current squad selection.

"We have a large number of talented players who are all capable of achieving the club’s goals."

Zamalek lead Group B with 10 points, one ahead of Abu Salim. G.D. Sagrada Esperança of Angola are third with 4 points, while Guinea's SOAR Coyah are pointless and bottom of the group.
