Salah, 31, sustained muscle fatigue and was unable to participate in Liverpool's midweek victory over Luton.
"I don't believe Mo is too far from returning, but he won't be featuring tomorrow, and from there we will have to assess," Klopp stated during a pre-game press conference on Friday.
"It's a touch-and-go situation ... but I think it's possible for him to return at some point next week. He is definitely on the road to recovery, but he's not there just yet," added the German coach.
The Egyptian winger recently recuperated from a hamstring injury he sustained while representing Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations, scoring a goal in Liverpool's commanding triumph over Brentford two weeks ago.
Liverpool currently sits at the top of the English Premier League table with 60 points, holding a one-point lead over second-placed and defending champions Manchester City.
