Winger Hussein El-Shahat netted the game's only goal in the 46th minute, capitalizing on a pinpoint pass from Ali Maaloul.

Despite already securing qualification for the knockout stages, Ahly dominated possession from the outset but struggled to convert their dominance into clear-cut chances.

The Tanzanian side displayed early determination, with midfielder Aziz Ki forcing a save from Ahly goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir in the eighth minute.

Ahly thought they had broken the deadlock in the 18th minute when Percy Tau slotted home after a Maaloul cross, but the goal was chalked off for offside.

Shobeir continued to impress, denying efforts from Pacome Zouzoua before the break.

El-Shahat made the breakthrough early in the second half, finishing neatly after a defence-splitting pass from Maaloul.

Young Africans threatened an equalizer late on, with Shobeir again called into action to deny Kennedy Musonda's header.

Second-half substitute Emam Ashour nearly added the second for Ahly in stoppage time, but his effort was well saved by the Young Africans goalkeeper.

The win sees Ahly finish the group stage unbeaten at the top of the table with 12 points, their best performance since 2008. They also progress to the quarter-finals as group winners, a feat last achieved in 2019.

Young Africans, meanwhile, advance to the next round as runners-up with eight points.
