Micale has called up Eyad El Askalany (19) from Russia's FK Rostov, Omar Fayed (20) from Serbia's FK Novi Pazar, Moustafa Ashraf (20) from Germany's Borussia Monchengladbach II, and Bilal Mazhar (20) from Greece's Panathinaikos B to join the March camp.

The Young Pharaohs are scheduled to participate in the fifth edition of the U-23 West Asia Friendly Tournament, set to take place in Saudi Arabia from 18 to 26 March.

This tournament serves as a crucial part of their preparations for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympic Games, with the draw for the event will be held on 20 March in France.

Having guided Egypt to secure a spot in the 2024 Paris Olympics, the 54-year-old Micale led the team to the final of the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations, where they narrowly lost 2-1 to hosts Morocco earlier this month.

The West Asia Friendly Tournament will feature eight teams, including Egypt.

In the tournament, Egypt will face the UAE, and the winner will advance to play against the winner between Australia and Iraq.

Hosts Saudi Arabia U-23 national team will take on Jordan, while South Korea will go head-to-head against Thailand.

The Egypt U-23 national team is set to commence a closed camp in the Olympic City in the New Administrative Capital on 14 March, before flying to Saudi Arabia on 18 March for the tournament.
