Ten major German companies in the field of information technology and German-speaking customer service participated in the fair.
The programme's advanced students had the opportunity to learn about these companies and their fields of work and to conduct interviews for employment.
The fair is part of the Up4Jobs German Language Scholarship Programme, which is offered by the Federal Republic of Germany and implemented by the Goethe-Institute Cairo and the GIZ.
The Up4Jobs programme helps university graduates and job seekers find job opportunities in German companies located in Egypt.
It also aims to teach and improve the skills of German language students, allowing them to obtain a job in one of the Egypt-based German companies.
The programme was launched in 2023 due to the high demand for German-speaking employees in German companies, especially in the fields of customer service and information technology.
The Up4Jobs programme offers scholarships of up to 90 percent of the German language courses' total cost, in addition to the opportunity to participate in personal skills training, cultural training, language cafes, and job fairs. Students should pass at least level B2 in German to get a job in one of the German companies in Egypt.
Another job fair is expected to be organized later in 2024, and the number of those who benefit from the programme is planned to reach 1,500 students by the end of 2025.
