President El-Sisi's made his remarks during a meeting with Lieutenant-General Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s national security advisor and secretary-general of the country’s Supreme Defence Council.
According to the Egyptian Presidency, the meeting, which was also attended by Director of Egypt's General Intelligence Service Abbas Kamel, touched on the situation in the Gaza Strip and Cairo's efforts to restore calm in the strip.
Both sides agreed on the vital importance of an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and on ensuring the flow of critically needed humanitarian and relief aid urgently and in sufficient quantities.
For his part, the Bahraini official praised Egypt’s efforts to deliver aid, including airdropping it into northern Gaza and providing land access through the Rafah Border Crossing.
During the meeting, Al Khalifa conveyed a message to El-Sisi from the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, expressing appreciation for the historical relations between both countries and their peoples.
The message also affirmed the kingdom's support of Egypt’s and President El-Sisi’s efforts to address all domestic and foreign challenges, primarily at the regional level.
El-Sisi expressed Egypt’s enormous appreciation for the king’s efforts and policies, emphasizing both countries’ persistent joint action to further strengthen their historical and solid relations and to forge closer cooperation across all fields.
