These meetings were held on the sidelines of the Egyptian-European summit set to commence later in the day, as per statements from the Egyptian Presidency.

President El-Sisi covered a range of topics on the ongoing war in Gaza in separate meetings with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and Chancellor of Austria Karl Nehammer.

El-Sisi emphasized the urgent need for a ceasefire, including the international community’s responsibility to secure one, and reviewed Egyptian efforts to secure such a ceasefire.

He also underscored the vital importance of ending the humanitarian catastrophe in the strip, where famine is looming.

In particular, he stressed the international community's responsibility to deliver sufficient aid to the Gaza Strip.

El-Sisi highlighted the gravity of invading Rafah and the dire humanitarian repercussions that would ensue.

He reiterated Egypt’s steadfast rejection of forced displacement of Palestinians outside their land and its commitment to preventing it.

The president reaffirmed the importance of establishing a Palestinian state as part of the two-state solution.

European leaders, for their part, expressed gratitude for Egypt's relentless efforts to restore security and stability in the region.

The ongoing genocidal Israeli war on Gaza, now in its 162nd day, has killed at least 31,645 Palestinians and injured 73,676 others, the Palestinian health ministry said on Sunday.

The Egyptian-European summit aims to promote relations between Egypt and the EU to the level of "Comprehensive and Strategic,” according to a previous statement by the presidency.
