However, the details of the contract were not revealed.
The 25-year-old joined Pyramids FC from Enppi in January 2021, and his current contract was set to expire at the end of this season.
Galal, a towering defender who is considered one of the top defenders in the domestic league, had been strongly linked with a move to Ahly, as the Cairo giants had expressed interest in signing him for the upcoming season.
"I am very happy to extend my stay at Pyramids FC," Galal told the club's media center on Monday.
"I am proud to be here, and I hope to help the club win titles."
Galal was initially named in the final list for the recent Africa Cup of Nations under the guidance of Portuguese coach Rui Vitoria.
However, he was later dropped from the squad due to a muscle injury.
The newly appointed coach, Hossam Hassan, has not included Galal in his squad for the Capital Cup, which is set to begin in Cairo on Friday.
The defender has only made a single appearance for the national team, the Pharaohs, in a friendly match against Belgium.
