The FIFA committee for players' status has accepted the request submitted by the Palestinian Football Association regarding Abou Ali's desire to represent Palestine instead of Denmark.

Although Abou Ali holds Danish nationality, the 25-year-old forward represented the Denmark U-21 team in a single game against Romania in March 2019.

However, with the recent approval from FIFA, Abou Ali will now have the opportunity to represent Palestine at the international level.

Since joining Ahly from Swedish side IK Sirius in January, Abou Ali has made a positive impact, scoring two goals in three appearances for the Red Devils.

Expressing his pride and honor, he took to his social media account on Wednesday, stating, "Proud and honored to be able to represent this country. It is for every single Palestinian out there."

Palestine's next game is scheduled for June 6th against Lebanon in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
