Minarets and Domes photo exhibition celebrates Cairo’s skyline

The Minarets and Domes photo exhibition was held at the Prince Taz Palace in Historic Cairo this week, showcasing the distinctive architectural feature that gives Cairo the nickname of “the city of a thousand minarets.”

The event was organized by the National Organization for Urban Harmony (NOUH) as part of the celebration of World Heritage Day on 18 April.

The exhibition ran from Tuesday through Thursday.

Mohamed Abou Seida CEO of NOUH, launched the exhibition and welcomed key cultural figures who enjoyed the concepts and ideas behind minarets and domes architecture.

These figures included NOUH representatives Professor Heidi Shalaby and Professor Mohamed El-Rashidy.

The photo exhibition beheld 110 photos of many talented young Egyptian photographers such as Micheal Hanna, Aliaa Nassar, Karim Badr and many more.

The exhibition included rare photos from the archive of NOUH as well as a documentary on the minarets and domes of Cairo through the ages.
