The win follows their 4-3 defeat from NBE club, followed by a frustrating 2-2 draw against Enppi on Monday.
The victory lifts Ahly to the 9th place with 21 point after 10 games and gives them a much needed boost ahead of the highly anticipated Cairo derby against Zamalek on 15 April.
Despite a slow start that allowed the hosts early possession in the opening 15 minutes, Ahly regained composure as chances went begging. Former Ahly keeper Ali Lotfi thwarted attempts from Amr El Sulaya and Mahmoud “Kahraba” Abdel-Moneim from close range. Taher Mohamed Taher's header narrowly missed the target, and a promising cross from Omar Kamal went unconverted.
Ahly maintained their pressure after the break and coach Marcel Koller introduced more attacking options to break the deadlock.
Ahmed Abdel-Kader, who made his second consecutive appearance, had a goal disallowed for offside after a VAR review.
Palestinian striker Wissem Abo Ali could have scored from his first touch of the game but Lotfi produced a brilliant save to block his header.
Abo Ali then combined with Anthony Modeste, another substitute, and fired from outside the box to finally beat Lotfi and claim three precious points for Ahly.
