El-Sisi’s remarks came during his joint press conference with the King of Bahrain, Hamed bin Isa Al-Khalifa, who is on an official visit to Egypt.
"We are meeting today at a critical and dangerous time due to the Israeli war on Gaza and the continuing tragic fall of thousands of innocent civilians whose only fault is clinging to their homes and lands and aspiring to live decent, honourable and humane lives,” he said at the press conference.
The Egyptian President also stated that at this juncture in our history, we are witnessing the continued use of excessive military force to terrorize civilians, starve them, and collectively punish them through forced displacement and forced migration.
El-Sisi accused the international community of watching “helplessly, with no ability or will to achieve justice or enforce international and humanitarian law, or even the most basic human concepts.”
He added that the situation in Gaza and its impact on the region had been one of the main issues he discussed with the Bahraini king.
Furthermore, the two leaders discussed Egyptian and Arab efforts to put an end to the situation in Gaza and ensure it never reoccurs.
They also discussed efforts to garner international support for enforcing an immediate and sustainable ceasefire in Gaza and halting all attempts at forced displacement and collective punishment of the Palestinian people.
In addition, the two leaders discussed providing the Palestinians in Gaza with sustainable and sufficient access to humanitarian aid and establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 6 June borders, according to international mandates, with Jerusalem as its capital.
El-Sisi stressed to Al-Khalifa the urgent need to protect the security and stability of the Arab world and its peoples against various threats and the whims of warmongers, stressing that Egypt considers Arab security to be indivisible.
For his part, King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa said he discussed with President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi the need for a political path for a fair and comprehensive peace in Palestine based on the two-state solution and the full acceptance of Palestine's membership in the United Nations.
During the press conference with President El-Sisi, Al-Khalifa reiterated his country's support for Egypt's role in promoting regional and global peace and stability.
He added that he discussed with the Egyptian President the ceasefire in Gaza, the delivery of humanitarian aid, and just peace in the region based on the two-state solution.
Al-Khalifa also noted that the talks touched on the upcoming Arab summit in Bahrain and expressed confidence that the fruitful discussions will lead to actionable outcomes and a safe future for the coming generations.
