Zizo, converted the penalty in the 45 th minute, taking his goal tally in the domestic league to seven so far this season.
NBE Club had to play with ten men after striker Ossama Faysal was sent off in the 55th minute.
With this win, Zamalek climbed to 12th place in the league table with 24 points, 14 behind leaders FC Pyramids who played three more games.
Due to the absence of their Tunisian striker Seif Jaziri, Zamalek coach Jose Gomes opted to field a more attacking lineup, introducing midfielders Zizo, Mostafa Shalabi, and Nasser Maher in the frontline.
However, Zamalek struggled to make an impact with this new tactic.
Defender Mostafa Zenari and winger Mostafa Shalabi were forced to leave the game within the first 20 minutes due to injuries.
They were replaced by Hossam Abdel-Meguid and Samson Akinyoola, respectively.
Just before halftime, Zamalek were awarded a penalty after former club defender Mohamed Abdel-Ghani was fouled inside the area. Zizo stepped up and confidently converted the spot-kick, giving his side a first-half lead.
Ten minutes into the second half, NBE Club suffered a significant setback when their striker Ossama Faysal, who also has a history with Zamalek, was sent off after receiving a second yellow card.
Zamalek had several clear chances to extend their lead in the remaining minutes, but their finishing let them down.
Meanwhile, the visitors attempted to find an equalizer, but their efforts were easily dealt with by the Zamalek defense and goalkeeper.
Zamalek's next challenge will be an away match against Alexandria-based club Smouha on Sunday.
This game will serve as their final test before the Confederation Cup final, scheduled for Sunday 12 May.
