The company’s now operates 33 aircraft, including Airbus, E190, and ATR models, it said in a press release issued on Thursday.

It also announced the launch of new air routes to Europe in the summer season, linking Egyptian tourist cities with some European cities.

The national carrier said it seeks to “stimulate air traffic and promote inbound tourism to and from Egypt,” according to the statement.

Air Cairo Chairman Captain Ahmed Shanan pointed out that the company aims to operate new flights to the most requested destinations, enhancing air connectivity and expanding its network of air routes.

A direct flight route has been launched linking Sharm El Sheikh to Venice, Italy, with one flight per week, he noted.

As of June, Cairo Air will operate a new air route between Cairo and Antalya, Turkey, with two flights per week, and another route linking Cairo to Sabiha Gökçen Airport in Istanbul with two flights per week, he added.

Shanan said the Egyptian carrier will also launch a route between Cairo and Yerevan, Armenia, with one flight per week and a route between Marsa Matrouh and Slovakia, with two flights per week.

This brings the total number of destinations reached by the company to 60 local and international points, with a frequency of more than 400 flights a week, he pointed out.
