The reason for his absence has not been officially disclosed by FC Nantes, but it is speculated to be related to the league's campaign against homophobia during this week.
According to French newspaper L'Equipe, Mostafa Mohamed is neither suspended nor injured.
Last season, the 26-year-old forward missed a Ligue 1 match against Toulouse after refusing to wear an anti-homophobia shirt.
He stated that while he respects all differences, he requested others to respect his personal beliefs.
Mostafa Mohamed has been a key player for FC Nantes, scoring eight goals and contributing to the team's efforts to maintain their position in Ligue 1.
After joining on loan from Turkish side Galatasaray, his move was made permanent last summer, and he is contracted with FC Nantes until the summer of 2027.
