
11 women drown as microbus falls off Nile ferry in Giza. Al-Ahram
On Tuesday, prosecutors detained the driver on manslaughter charges for four days pending investigation and ordered a drug test.
The microbus was reportedly carrying a group of female workers between the ages of 15 and 40 when it plunged into the Nile River near Abou Ghaleb village in Giza.
The women were going to work from Manashi village in Giza to an agricultural export company.
The microbus was successfully retrieved from the Nile a few hours after the accident.
