In an intense showdown, the Cairo giants emerged triumphant with a 1-0 victory over Tunisia's Esperance in the second leg of the CAF Champions League final at Cairo International Stadium, following a goalless draw in the first leg.

The 26-year-old defensive midfielder, Tawfik, delivered a stellar performance that earned him the well-deserved Man of the Match award.

"The Man of the Match accolade in the CAF Champions League final embodies the collective efforts of all players throughout the entire season. I am grateful to God for reclaiming my form after returning from injury," Tawfik expressed after the game.

Tawfik emphasized that winning the continental title was the crowning achievement of the season, bringing joy to millions of devoted fans.

"I extend my gratitude to the club's board of directors, the coaching staff, and my teammates for this triumph in the African competition. Esperance is a formidable team, but we proved our strength and thoroughly deserved this title," he added.

"Our supporters have always been the driving force behind our victories and championship wins," Tawfik acknowledged.

Looking forward to the upcoming CAF Super Cup clash against archrivals Zamalek, Tawfik affirmed that Ahly's players remain hungry for more victories.

"As two prominent Egyptian teams, both squads will compete fiercely for the championship. With utmost respect to Zamalek, who are an immensely strong team, we always play to win and success is our constant companion."
