Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit and several Arab foreign ministers will also attend the meeting in the Belgian capital to discuss the Gaza situation.

Shoukry's visit comes as part of the continuous Arab efforts aimed at consultation with European parties to end the brutal Israeli war on Gaza.

It also aims to prevent the escalation of the situation in the Palestinian territories and avoid conflict expansion to the whole region.

During the visit, Shoukry is set to hold several meetings with senior European officials, including EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell and the European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi.

The top Egyptian diplomat will also hold bilateral meetings with his European counterparts to explore ways to halt the Gaza war.

These meetings shall touch on ways to find a political path to revive the peace process, implement the two-state solution, and establish an independent Palestinian state over the June 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Moreover, Shoukry will take part in several ministerial meetings to address the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, especially in the Palestinian city of Rafah, and ways to support Palestinians amid this crisis.

On Friday, the Egyptian foreign minister participated in an Arab-Islamic ministerial meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron in the French capital, Paris, to discuss the actions needed to halt the Israeli war on Gaza.

On Sunday, 200 aid trucks from Egypt started entering the strip through the Karm Abu Salem border crossing, per a phone call agreement between President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and US President Joe Biden on Friday.
