What Ahly members said after winning record-extending Champions League title

Ahly's technical staff members and players expressed their joy and future ambition following the team's historic 1-0 victory over Esperance de Tunis in the second leg of the CAF Champions League final, clinching their 12th title.

Midfielder Mohamed 'Afsha' Magdy 

"Praise be to Allah! There are no words! Ahly is a special club with incredible fans. This is my fourth Champions League title, but I want more!" Afsha said, describing the electrifying atmosphere created by fans as "an indescribable energy" that makes playing for Ahly feel like "flying."

Midfielder Emam Ashour

 

"This is a dream come true! This African Championship won't be my last. We, as a team, promise the fans more trophies," Ashour said. 

"We are always playing to win, and I know that we bring home another title every few weeks." He added, emphasizing their winning mentality. 

Moreover, Ashour revealed that he sets his sights on a future FIFA Club World Cup title.

Football director Khaled Bebo

 

"It was a tough journey with many difficult matches," Bebo said.

He also acknowledged the team's success on the defense level: "Conceding only one goal throughout the Champions League is what Ahly does – we create and break records."

Moroccan winger Reda Slim

 

"Thankful to Allah for joining Ahly, the club of champions!" Slim said.

He also expressed gratitude to the passionate Ahly fanbase, having secured the Champions League title in his first season. 

Forward Mahmoud 'Kahraba' Abdel-Moneim  

"This is my fourth Champions League title! I've played and won four out of five finals with Ahly. What a great team!" Kahraba said.

Winger Ahmed Abdel-Kader

 

"We were nervous throughout the match, but thankfully we scored early and kept a clean sheet. This championship is a reward for our season-long efforts," Abdel-Kader said.

He dedicated the win to his injured teammate Ali Maaloul. "There's more to come," he promised, wishing him a safe return.

"This is their [the fans'] championship. They never gave up on us, and we will continue to fight for them," Abdel-Kader added.

"Everyone contributed, regardless of the number of titles they have. We are a hungry generation, and people must know we gave it our all," he affirmed.

Furthermore, Abdel-Kader stressed the importance of upcoming tournaments: "The league, the African Super Cup, and the Egyptian Super Cup are all crucial, but the Champions League holds a special place for Ahly."

Goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir

 

"Esperance is a great team, and the match was so difficult," Shobeir said, revealing that the second half was the most challenging.

Veteran defender Ramy Rabia

"Everyone played their part. Focusing on my game is the key to my success at Ahly," Rabia said.

"Any player who stays at Ahly wins trophies. I have six Champions League titles and aim for a seventh," he added.
