The White Knights have failed to secure a victory in their previous two domestic league matches, suffering a 1-0 loss against Smouha before being held to a 1-1 draw by Modern Future FC on Thursday.

These disappointing results have prevented Zamalek from improving their position in the league table, as they currently sit in 13th place with 25 points from 16 games.

They trail leaders Pyramids FC by 25 points, with Pyramids having played five more matches.

Despite their recent Confederation Cup title, Zamalek's performance against Modern Future FC was lackluster and below expectations.

Coach Jose Gomes attributed the team's poor performance to the fatigue resulting from a congested schedule of games.

Gomes has announced his squad for the upcoming game, which includes the return of fullback Ahmed Fatouh following his recovery from a muscle injury.

Zamalek struggled in Fatouh's absence during the previous two league games, with his replacement, Ibrahima Ndaye, who is initially a winger, failing to fill the void.

Ndaye was held responsible for the two goals conceded against Smouha and Modern Future FC.

Youssef 'Obama' Ibrahim has been omitted from the squad for technical reasons.

On the other hand, Ittihad of Alexandria is also experiencing difficulties in terms of results.

Like Zamalek, they have failed to secure a victory in their last two matches, losing 2-0 to Smouha and being held to a goalless draw by rookie team ZED FC.

These underwhelming performances raised doubts about the future of coach Tarek El-Ashri, but the club president has expressed renewed confidence in the experienced coach.

El-Ashri relies on his Angolan striker Mabululu, who has scored ten goals in the domestic league so far, placing him second on the league's top scorers' chart behind Baladeyet El-Mahalla striker Hossam Ashraf.

Ittihad of Alexandria currently occupies the fifth position in the table with 36 points from 24 games.

In the reverse fixture, Zamalek won the game 3-0 last April.
