Egyptian League players Toure & Simpore lead Burkina Faso squad against Egypt in World Cup qualifiers

Burkina Faso coach Brama Traore has called up Pyramids FC midfielder Blate Toure and NBE Club defender Saidou Simpore for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers this month.

Burkina Faso will face Egypt at Cairo Stadium on Thursday 6 th June, before hosting Sierra Leone four days later.

Toure, who has made 44 appearances for Burkina Faso, has been in excellent form for Pyramids FC, contributing to their leading position in the league table this season.

Meanwhile, Simpore finds himself battling relegation with his team NBE, currently sitting 14th in the 18-team league.

The list saw the absence of team's star Bertrand Traore, who plays for La Liga side Villarreal.

The Stallions currently occupy the second spot in Group A with four points from two games, trailing leaders Egypt by two points, as Egypt has accumulated a maximum of six points.

The group also includes Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, and Djibouti.

The winners of the nine qualifying groups will secure automatic qualification for the World Cup, while the best four runners-up will participate in the FIFA playoff tournament.

Egypt currently leads Group A with a perfect record of six points. The Pharaohs will seek to maintain their dominance when they host the Stallions on 6 June.
