Cairo University ranked 350 in QS World Rankings 2025

Cairo University ranked 350 globally in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2025, up from 371 in 2024, scoring 32.5 points compared to 29.9 in 2024, and climbing 21 spots this year.

The QS World University Rankings 2025, which includes over 1,500 universities across 105 higher education systems, features 15 Egyptian universities on the list.

Cairo University was followed by the American University in Cairo, with a rank of 410, climbing five spots from 415 in the previous list, and scoring 29 points, up from 27 in 2024.

Furthermore, Ain Shams University improved its ranking from the 721-730 range in 2024 to 592 in 2025, scoring 21 points.

Meanwhile, Alexandria University improved its ranking from 901-950 in 2024 to 801-850, while Future University in Egypt and Mansoura University moved up from the 1001-1200 range to 901-950 and 951-1000, respectively, on the current QS World University Rankings.

The 1001-1200 category featured Assiut University and Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport maintaining their positions, along with Al-Azhar University, which jumped from the 1201-1400 category in 2024.

In addition, the British University in Egypt, German University in Cairo, Helwan University, Suez Canal University, Tanta University, and Zagazig University maintained their positions in the 1201-1400 range.

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a global higher education analyst, has published the ranking annually since 2004. In ranking universities, QS relies on several indicators, including academic reputation, faculty-student ratio, and sustainability.
