Zamalek's Fatouh aims for swift recovery after ankle injury

Ahram Online , Wednesday 5 Jun 2024

Ahmed Fatouh, Zamalek's defender, expects to recover from his ankle injury within two to three weeks.

The injury occurred during the Egyptian national team camp, leading to his withdrawal from the squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Burkina Faso and Guinea-Bissau.

“God willing, I will return from the injury within two to three weeks,” Fatouh stated in a phone interview with ON Time Sports 2.

“It’s challenging for me to make it to the Ceramica Cleopatra match, but I’m hopeful that I’ll be available for the subsequent match. Additionally, I aim to participate in the league match against Ahly.” The 26-year-old added.

Fatouh’s injury deals a blow to the Pharaohs’ defense, especially since Mohamed Hamdi, the second left-back choice, is also out for the Burkina Faso match due to a suspension incurred during the Africa Cup of Nations.
