The conference, organized jointly by Jordan, Egypt, and the United Nations, will be hosted in Jordan's Dead Sea on 11 June.
Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, King Abdullah II, and UN Secretary-General António Guterres have called for the conference in which several world leaders, heads of governments, and humanitarian and relief organizations are expected to participate.
According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Shoukry and Safadi emphasized the importance of this meeting, which aims to establish practical steps to ensure the immediate, appropriate, and sustainable delivery of emergency humanitarian and medical aid to the war-torn strip.
Furthermore, the conference seeks to expedite and organize providing aid, enhance the international community's response to the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, and meet any relevant operational and logistical needs.
The ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to a coordinated collective response to address the current humanitarian situation in Gaza, ensure the sustainability of aid channels, establish conditions conducive to safe aid delivery, and protect Palestinian civilians.
In addition, the two ministers anticipated active participation from the invited countries and organizations to achieve the conference's objectives and provide adequate and sustainable humanitarian aid to the Palestinians, who are facing an unprecedented humanitarian disaster due to the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip since 7 October.
