Missing Saudi citizen’s body found in Cairo

Egypt’s Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday that the body of Saudi citizen Hattan Shata was found and identified by his family after being reported missing from his Cairo residence, adding that there was no criminal suspicion of his death.

In its statement on Wednesday, the Ministry of Interior addressed the report from the family of the Saudi citizen about his absence from his residence in Cairo, where he left behind all his personal belongings.

The Ministry confirmed in its statement that the search efforts resulted in the discovery of the missing person's body.

The investigations and medical examinations confirmed that there was no criminal suspicion surrounding his death, which was due to complications from his medical condition.

The Ministry added that legal procedures have been taken and that the deceased's brother and the Saudi Embassy in Egypt have been informed of all the details.

In another short statement about the incident involving the 40-year-old Saudi citizen who has been reportedly missing since April from his apartment in New Cairo, the Saudi embassy in Cairo stated that he was identified using his DNA.

According to his family, Shata regularly visited Egypt to enrol in life coaching and acting courses before his sudden disappearance.

The late Saudi citizen was married and had a daughter.
