Italian Ambassador to Egypt Michele Quaroni and his wife Veronika Quaroni held on 9 June a lavish reception party to celebrate the Italian National Day at the historic Italian Consulate and Italian Club in El-Galaa Street, Bulaq, in Cairo.

Attendees were invited by Ambassador Quaroni for a special evening to experience Italian culture, music, songs, and food in the heart of Cairo.

The reception party saw the presence of an array of luminaries, particularly Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Wealth Tarek El-Molla, Minister of Supply and Home Trade Aly El-Sayed Moselhi, and Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat.

Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine El-Qabbag and Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Soha Guindy also attended the reception.

Actors Hussein Fahmy and Amina Khalil were among the attendees.

Furthermore, other attendants included the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute Davide Scalmani, the Director of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization Ahmed Ghoneim, the Organizer of Empower Her Art Festival Shereen Badr, and the Founder of She Art Festival Neveen Qenawi.

In addition, foreign and Arab ambassadors and members of the Italian community in Egypt attended the reception.

Addressing his guests, the Italian ambassador said, "Today, we should focus on what unites us in a world full of love rather than hatred. I hope that what is going on in Gaza, Ukraine, and Sudan ends soon. Italy will continue helping the people of Gaza, and we look forward to living in a world of peace".

Quaroni also stressed that the Italian-Egyptian relations are strong and historical, especially in trade, agriculture, and education. He pointed out that the embassy is keen on hosting events for women's empowerment.

"My heartfelt thanks go to the team of the Italian embassy and my wife Veronika," he concluded.

On this occasion, the Italian ambassador announced the winners' names of the tombola prizes, which included invitations to dinner at Italian restaurants and travel tickets to Italy. The prizes went mostly to Italians.

Pop singer Mahmoud El-Asseily enlivened the party by performing several of his much-loved songs.
