They also warned at the same time of the ramifications of escalating the conflict and of instability in the region, especially in light of the recent escalation in the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
According to the Egyptian foreign ministry, both ministers exchanged views on several regional and international issues, foremost among them the ongoing crisis in the Gaza Strip and the severe humanitarian situation there.
Furthermore, both parties stressed the need to ensure greater access to humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian civilians, who are facing unbearable conditions due to the restrictions imposed by Israel on the entry of aid and its reluctance to provide protection and suitable conditions for distributing it to its rightful recipients.
The call also addressed bilateral relations between the two countries and the arrangements for holding the first meeting of the High-Level Strategic Council between Egypt and Turkey.
