The defending champions controlled the full 90 minutes of the game, dominating their opponents who continued to struggle in the domestic league as they slumped to their fifth defeat in the last ten games.

Ahly needed only 12 minutes to open the scoring when winger Taher Mohamed was on the follow of a rebounded ball to score easily from a close range.

In the 34th minute Amr El-Soulaya doubled the lead after three defenders from Talae El-Gaish failed to clear the ball off the line allowing El-Soulaya to score after a soft touch.

Four minutes later Mohamed Abdel-Moneam added the third with a nice volley after a corner, giving his side a comfortable first-half lead.

Nothing new in the second half with Ahly maintained their superiority and Taher Mohamed squandered a penalty in the 86 th minute.

On the other hand, substitute striker Omar El-Saeid failed to score a consolation goal for Talae El-Gaish after his shot from the spot was denied by Ahly keeper Mohamed El-Shennawi.

In injury time Palestinian striker Wessam Abou Ali completed the rout with a nice lob.

Ahly are now second in the league table with 51 points, 11 points behind Leaders Pyramids FC who played four games more.

The Red Devils' next fixture will be against bottom side Dakhleya on Thursday.
