The source told Extra News that the government reshuffle will include many ministerial portfolios and governors.
He added that the changes will involve the merging of some ministerial portfolios and the creation of new ones.
These changes are based on the directives recently issued by President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to develop new policies to address the challenges facing the country, added the source.
He noted that the new cabinet would work according to a specific program focused on certain national priorities, including improving services provided to citizens, continuing structural reform of the economy, and encouraging investment.
On Sunday, President El-Sisi noted that the highest priority of the incoming government is to alleviate hardships resulting from rising prices and create more job opportunities.
In recent months, Egypt has grappled with a foreign currency crunch, soaring global commodity prices, and disruptions to international supply chains, which raised the cost of living.
In early June, President El-Sisi accepted the resignation of PM Madbouly and his cabinet and reappointed him as prime minister to form a new cabinet.
El-Sisi – who started his third term in office in April – directed the outgoing government to continue performing its duties until the new government is formed.
This is the fourth cabinet reshuffle under the premiership of Madbouly, 58, since he was first appointed prime minister in June 2018.
The last ministerial reshuffle in August 2022 comprised 13 portfolios.
