Factbox: Who's new and who left in Egypt cabinet overhaul?

Egypt's new cabinet was sworn in on Wednesday 3 July with numerous changes in ministers and portfolios in a 30-member new government led by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.

The overhaul introduced 20 new ministers.

It also merged existing ministries and added/reintroduced certain portfolios into the cabinet structure. 

Here is a look at the new faces and those who left in the new cabinet.

New ministers
 
  • General Abdel-Meguid Saqr took the oath as the Minister of Defence and Military Production.
  • Badr Abdelatty took the oath as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration and Expatriate Affairs.
  • Ahmed Kouchouk took the oath as Minister of Finance.
  • Manal Awad Mikhail took the oath as Minister of Local Development.
  • Sherif Farouk took the oath as Minister of Supply and Internal Trade.
  • Usama Alazhary took the oath as Minister of Religious Endowments.
  • Mohamed Shimy took the oath as the new Minister of Public Business Sector.
  • Mohamed Abdel-Latif took the oath as Minister of Education and Technical Education.
  • Maya Morsy took the oath as Minister of Social Solidarity.
  • Karim Badawi took the oath as Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
  • Mahmoud Esmat took the oath as Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy.

  • Mahmoud Fawzy took the oath as Minister of the Parliamentary and Legal Affairs and Political Communication.

  • A Ministry of Investment has been added and merged with External Trade.
