Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly during a press conference on Thursday.
These press conferences will serve as a platform for responding to journalists' questions and citizens' issues, Madbouly said during his first press conference after his new overhauled cabinet was sworn in on Wednesday.
At least once a month, senior thinkers, media professionals, and programme presenters will join the meetings to engage with the state's directions and relay them to the public, the premier added.
This new mechanism, he said, will follow every weekly cabinet meeting, aiming to communicate government actions and current developments to citizens effectively.
"The government is open to answering any questions in these press conferences," Madbouly emphasized, highlighting the importance of transparency and direct communication with citizens.
Moreover, he referred to President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's directive during the Wednesday meeting with the overhauled cabinet and new governors, urging constant, direct engagement with citizens and proactive transparency about challenges and potential crises to keep the public informed.
On Wednesday afternoon, 30 ministers were sworn in before President El-Sisi as part of a major overhaul in a new cabinet led by Madbouly.
The cabinet overhaul introduced 20 new ministers, merged existing ministries, and added/reintroduced certain portfolios into the cabinet structure.
This is the fourth cabinet overhaul under the premiership of Madbouly, 58, since he was first appointed prime minister in June 2018.
The most recent cabinet overhaul happened in August 2022 and comprised 13 portfolios.
