This improved service will be available from Adly Mansour station in Cairo Metro's third line to the Arts and Culture City station in the New Administrative Capital (NAC), and vice versa.
The announcement was made by RATP Dev Mobility Cairo (RDMC), a French-owned subsidiary in charge of operating Cairo Metro's third line and the country’s new light rail transit (LRT) line.
Providing more frequent trains during peak hours is a strategic move to accommodate the increasing number of commuters and improve overall service quality.
It also reflects the state's commitment to enhancing public transportation infrastructure and offering a better commuting experience in Cairo.
The NAC will be connected to Greater Cairo by two mass transportation means: Egypt’s first monorail and the LRT system.
Located 60 km east of downtown Cairo, the NAC is built on an area of 1.5 million square metres, expected to accommodate 6.5 million residents.
Ministries and government entities, like the cabinet and parliament, have relocated to the NAC.
In November, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stated that 48,108 employees had already relocated to the NAC.
