Doha ambassador in Cairo Tariq Faraj Al-Ansari honors Sawsan Murad Ezz El-Alarab, editor-in-chief of Al-Beit and Nisf Al-Donya magazines
The embassy held a ceremony to honour journalist Sawsan Morad Ezzelarab, editor-in-chief of Al-Beit and Nisf Al-Donia magazines published by the prestigious Al-Ahram Foundation.
She was chosen for her contributions to the field of supporting media and cultural exchange, especially in innovating ways of diplomatic communication and joint cultural cooperation.
The selection, which was announced by Doha ambassador in Cairo and the Arab League permanent representative Tariq Ali Faraj Al-Ansari, is based on criteria that include success, leadership, boldness, and creativity in the field of public service.
The ceremony was held at St. Regis Hotel, where Ambassador Al-Ansari began his speech by expressing the depth of diplomatic and economic relations between Egypt and Qatar and the tangible rapprochement through areas of cooperation that are witnessing a clear boom.
The ambassador presented a souvenir of an Arabian oryx sculpture, which is a national symbol of the State of Qatar, and congratulated the journalist on renewing confidence in her as editor-in-chief of Al-Beit magazine and appointing her as editor-in-chief of Nisf Al-Donia magazine, which has a long history of more than 35 years.
The ambassador highlighted the importance of honouring an Egyptian journalist who works to promote the concept of cultural diplomacy as an initiative to highlight the distinguished efforts and contributions on the path of dialogue and rapprochement, especially in the media field.
For her part, journalist Ezzelarab expressed her pride in the honour, which confirms the solicitude of diplomatic institutions towards media and cultural dialogue, being one of the pillars of soft power.
The ceremony was attended by prominent public figures, ambassadors, and diplomats, including Sharifa Al-Emadi, Executive Director of the Doha International Family Institute; Ghanem Saqr Ghanem, ambassador of Kuwait to Cairo; and Amr El-Kady, Chairman of the Tourism Promotion Authority, among others.
