The opening ceremony was attended by CEO of ITIDA Ahmed El-Zaher, CEO of Informa PLC Stephen A. Carter, and General Manager of Informa Markets in Egypt Hany Khafagy, among others.
“The action underscores Egypt's appeal as a premier and distinguished hub for exporting shared services and offshoring, while also bolstering the agency's plans to encourage local companies and attract more global enterprises to establish or expand their centres in Egypt,” said El-Zaher.
He also added that the agency aims to attract major global companies and leaders to establish offshoring centres in Egypt, which aligns with the Digital Egypt strategy for the offshoring industry.

It is worth noting that ICT is Egypt’s fastest-growing state sector.
The sector’s contribution to Egypt’s GDP recorded 5.8 percent in FY2023/2024, intending to reach 8 percent in 2030, Minister of Communication and Information Technology stated this week.
El-Zaher also highlighted that ITIDA will support Informa’s efforts to grow its offshoring and service centres in Egypt to help serve its clients across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
As for Carter, he noted that Egypt is one of India, Middle East, and Africa (IMEA)’s most prominent growing economies.
Informa has been expanding its presence in Egypt by supporting the government’s focus on economic growth, helping Egyptian businesses to trade through major exhibitions, and partnering with the Egyptian Knowledge Bank to serve local researchers, he explained.
He further mentioned that, to date, Informa has organized nine major annual exhibitions through its Informa Markets business. These include Cityscape Egypt for real estate, Pharmaconex for pharmaceuticals, ProPak MENA for food manufacturing, and Sahara for agriculture.
Informa supports Egyptian researchers and universities through Taylor & Francis business and has specialized central finance and customer service teams across Europe and IMEA, he added.
Moreover, Khafagy added that in 2023 Informa Markets’ exhibitions attracted over 120,000 attendees from more than 40 countries and generated EGP 3.8 billion for Egypt’s economy.
With this new office, Informa aims to double their events in Africa over the next three years, while expanding their central shared finance and customer service functions.
