During the call, El-Sisi reiterated his condemnation of all forms of violence and acts of terrorism and hatred. He also affirmed the close ties and strategic partnership between Egypt and the US.
Trump, for his side, expressed his appreciation and thanked President El-Sisi for the kind gesture, according to Fahmy.
On 13 July, former US President Trump survived an assassination attempt by a gunman at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, in a chaotic and shocking incident.
The incident is set to supercharge political tensions ahead of the polarizing US presidential election.
Following this, El-Sisi expressed Egypt's condemnation of the attack on Trump.
"I followed up the treacherous attack on former president and presidential nominee Donald Trump with concern, and I reiterate Egypt's condemnation of the incident," El-Sisi wrote on his Facebook page.
