Namira, 43, will perform at the great hall of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina to an expected large crowd of his fans on 1 August just days after performing at the 58th edition of Carthage International Festival.
His unique style encompassing genres such as light rock, jazz, Latin music, and above all Arab music has made him well-known to Western audiences and the subject of a dedicated fan base.
Namira released his debut album Ehlam Maaya (Dream with Me) in 2008, followed by four more successful albums: Insan (A Human, 2011); Esmaani (Listen Up, 2014); Hateer Min Tany (I'll Fly Again, 2018); and Mawlood Sanat 80 (Born in the Year 80, 2020).
The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Summer Festival will then feature great names such as Omar Khairat (14 and 15 August); Khaled Al-Kammar (19 August); Fouad and Mounib performing with Albaluna Band (20 August); Ali El-Haggar (23 August); and Anoushka (29 August), all accompanied by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Orchestra.
The festival also presents concerts at an open-air venue (Plaza) that can embrace hundreds of fans of various bands. Those include Tablet Elsitt (2 August); Nouran Aboutaleb (5 August); Hisham Abbas (6 August); Abu (12 August), High Dam band (21 August); Hisham Kharma (26 August); Folklorita (27 August); and Saad El-Oud (30 August), among numerous others.
The music programme will also feature musicians from Tunisia, Germany, Portugal, France, and the USA.
The festival also presents theatre and film events, in addition to activities catered to whole families.
It will conclude with a concert by an Egyptian band, Sharmoofers, on 31 August.
