Kouchouk also stated that the government is working on stimulating production and exports and luring investors to Egypt by providing them with viable economic opportunities. He cited the “golden license” that the government grants investors as an example of Egypt’s efforts to reduce the complexity of the procedures required from investors and encourage investment.
Moreover, Kouchouk told Hong Tat that he looks forward to discussing subjects of common interest and exchanging expertise with Singapore in human investment, developing skills and talents, improving tax management, digitization, financial analysis and technology, and macro-financial policies.
The Fourth largest Asian investor in Egypt
Kouchouk also highlighted that Singapore is the fourth largest Asian investor in Egypt.
He added that deepening the cooperation between the private sectors in Egypt and Singapore will boost the economic capabilities of the two countries, stressing that seaports and renewable energy represent promising fields for economic cooperation with Singapore.
On the other hand, Kouchouk also met with UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) representatives during the summit. The two sides discussed collaboration methods to enhance capacity building and provide technical assistance in debt management. They also discussed improving trade and exports and increasing the private sector's contribution to sustainable economic development and growth.
