Israeli army says carried out targeted strike in Beirut

The Israeli military said it carried out a strike Tuesday in Beirut that targeted a commander responsible in last week's rocket attack on the Golan Heights.

"The army carried out a targeted strike in Beirut on the commander responsible for the murder of the children in Majdal Shams and the killing of numerous additional Israeli civilians," the military said in a statement, referring to the Druze Arab town where Saturday's rocket attack killed 12 children.
