During the meeting between the two officials on the sidelines of his visit to Qatar, FM Abdelatty emphasized to Kaag the urgent need to ensure the unimpeded entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, according to a statement by the Egyptian foreign ministry.

He stressed that the aid should be sufficient to meet the needs of the Palestinian people in the sector and alleviate their suffering amid the unprecedented humanitarian crisis they face.

Abdelatty also highlighted the importance of overcoming the challenges and obstacles that hinder the entry and distribution of humanitarian aid in Gaza.

He underscored the necessity of implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2720 and condemned any attempts to target humanitarian workers and their facilities within Gaza.

Furthermore, Abdelatty affirmed that the role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is indispensable in the ongoing humanitarian relief efforts in the sector.

For her part, Kaag underscored the importance of coordination with Egypt, given its significant role in all aspects of the current crisis, particularly the humanitarian and relief efforts.

She expressed hope that the situation regarding the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza would improve soon.
