The announcement will include the names of top-performing students, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Education Shady Zalta said.

Exams' results will be released online shortly after the press conference.

The Thanaweya Amma exams, which took place this year from 10 June to 20 July, determine students' university admissions and career paths.

Over 745,000 students sat for the exams this year.

For the second year, the students had open-book system exams, where each student received a concepts booklet at the start of each subject's exam and returned it to proctors at the end.

Around 85 percent of the exam paper consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs), while 15 percent are essay questions.

The change in the exam system is part of the country’s effort to overhaul the education system transforming it from a memorization-based system to a comprehension-centred one.
