Abdelatty informed Tajani about his recent communications with foreign ministers from various regional countries, the United States, Russia, and several European countries over the past days, aimed at containing the tension and escalation.
He reiterated Egypt's rejection of Israel's assassination policy and violation of regional sovereignty, which exacerbated tension and unrest.
Egypt’s top diplomat stressed the country’s reliance on Italy's continued support in implementing the comprehensive strategic partnership with the EU, including related financial packages.
The foreign ministers also discussed the Egyptian-Italian efforts to enhance stability, combat terrorism, and promote development in Africa and coordination between the two countries in international forums.
The Italian foreign minister expressed his country's appreciation for the strong and special ties with Egypt and his eagerness to meet his Egyptian counterpart on the sidelines of the upcoming United Nations General Assembly in September.
