The Israeli army claimed it would respond to a Hamas rocket attack from Beit Hanoun the day before and urged residents to relocate to Gaza City, large areas of which have been destroyed.

Beit Hanoun, which is close to the border, was one of the first targets of the massive bombardment and ground Israeli invasion launched since the war started.

Israeli occupation forces have repeatedly returned to areas where past air and ground operations caused widespread destruction, as Palestinian resistance fighters have regrouped.

Three Palestinian civilians were killed and others were injured Wednesday after the Israeli army bombed a residential apartment east of Gaza, WAFA news agency reported.

The occupation forces also opened fire on citizens' homes east of the Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip, injuring many citizens, who were subsequently transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the city of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.

The occupation boats also bombed the area around Wadi Gaza Bridge northwest of Nuseirat camp in central Gaza.

The number of people killed by the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since 7 October has surged to 39,653, mostly children and women. Some 91,535 others have been wounded.

Thousands of victims are still trapped under the rubble or scattered on the roads, as ambulance and civil defense teams are facing tremendous difficulties in reaching them due to the relentless Israeli shelling.

The vast majority of Gaza’s 2.3 million people have been displaced within the narrow coastal strip since the start of the war — often multiple times. Hundreds of thousands are sheltering in crowded tent camps.

Ongoing assaults on West Bank

Israeli occupation forces Wednesday blew up the headquarters of the Fatah movement during a raid into Balata camp east of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, WAFA said.

Local sources said that the occupation forces stormed the eastern area of al-Quds Street and Beit Furik military checkpoint, accompanied by a bulldozer, and raided many homes in Balata camp amid heavy gunfire and sound and gas bombs.

Moreover, the Israeli army dismantled on Wednesday several tents and seized them during a raid in the village of Birin, east of Hebron.

On 4 July, the forces demolished 10 homes in the village, displacing more than 34 individuals and forcing them to set up tents to live in.
