“Attiyat Allah will be joining Ahly on loan with an option to buy. The player already signed the contracts and finished all the managerial and financial procedures,” the Cairo giants said in a statement via their official website without disclosing any other details.
According to media reports, Attiyat Allah signed a one-year loan deal wih option to buy. The deal would reportedly amount to $1.5 million.
The 29-year-old Attiyat Allah joined the Russian club from Moroccan giants Wydad AC last January, scoring one goal in 10 appearances.
Attiyat Allah, who made his international debut in 2022, was a member of Morocco’s squad that reached the semi-final of the 2022 World Cup, securing a historical achievement by ending the prestigious tournament in fourth place.
Attiyat Allah has topped the wish list of coach Marcel Koller to replace the injured Ali Maaloul.
The Egyptian giants want to bolster their squad ahead of busy season that will see them play in the African Champions League, the African Super League, the Intercontinental Cup and the reformed Club World Cup as well as the domestic competitions.
On Thursday, Ahly secured their record-extending 44th Egyptian Premier League title with a 1-0 victory over rivals Smouha.
