After consulting with club president Mahmoud El-Khateeb and head coach Marcel Koller, Ahly management agreed to reply to the French offer.
“The club decided to reply to Nice and send its financial demands that suit the club’s value and the player’s outstanding abilities, taking into consideration the team’s interest,” Ahly explained in a statement via its official website.
Since rejoining the Reds in January 2022 from Modern Future FC, Abdelmonem, who came from Ahly's youth ranks, quickly proved himself as a key player, winning nine trophies including two CAF Champions League titles, two Egyptian Premier League titles, and three Egyptian Super Cups.
Throughout his career with Ahly, Abdelmonem scored eight goals in 115 appearances in different competitions.
On Thursday, Ahly secured their record-extending 44th Egyptian Premier League title with a 1-0 victory over rivals Smouha.
With three games remaining in the season, Ahly comfortably lead the league table with 81 points, holding an eight-point advantage over second-placed Pyramids FC, who have played an extra game.
The league triumph marks the conclusion of a successful season for Ahly, during which they also captured the Egyptian Super Cup, the CAF Champions League title, and a bronze medal in the FIFA Club World Cup.
Nice ended the French league (Ligue 1) last season in fifth place with 55 points, 21 behind champions PSG.
