This came during the meeting of the Supreme Council for Pre-University Education which discussed the plan for the 2024/2025 academic year and was chaired by Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel-Latif.

The council approved during the meeting the ministry's strategy to restructure secondary education, address classroom overcrowding and student absenteeism, resolve teacher shortages, and finalize the academic calendar for the 2024/2025 school year.

Minister Abdel-Latif highlighted that this strategy represents a genuine effort to develop solutions and mechanisms tailored to the specific needs of each educational directorate.

The first semester of the new school year is set to run from 21 September 2024 to 23 January 2025, with exams starting on 11 January 2025.

The second semester will begin on 8 February 2025 and conclude on 5 June 2025.

The final exams for all educational stages, including preparatory certificate exams, are scheduled to begin on 24 May 2025.

Technical diplomas exams will start on 31 May 2025, while Thanaweya Amma exams will begin on 14 June 2025.

The mid-year break would be from 25 January to 6 February 2025.

 These dates will apply to all stages of education in public, language, and private schools.
