Following their official title win on Thursday, Ahly fielded a mix of substitutes and youth players against ZED FC, with head coach Marcel Koller opting to rest his regular players after a long season.

Koller himself took a break, delegating coaching duties to his Egyptian assistant, Sami Komsan, for the ZED FC match and the remaining two games.

In the first half, ZED FC missed a penalty in the 32nd minute as Abdallah Bakri’s shot rattled off the bar.

Just before halftime, Ahly's forward Mahmoud 'Kahraba' Abdel-Moneam broke the deadlock.

The second half saw further troubles for ZED FC when defender Ali Gamal received his marching orders five minutes into the second half.

Three minutes after the hour-mark stroke, winger Ahmed Abdel-Qader extended Ahly's lead with a solo effort

Despite a late consolation goal from Mostafa Zico three minutes from time, Ahly secured their 21st consecutive victory this season.

With 84 points, Ahly stands atop the table, eight points ahead of second-placed Pyramids FC, who also emerged victorious with a 5-2 win over Talae El-Geish on Sunday.
