Zizo sustained his injury during Egypt's U-23 team's 6-0 defeat to Morocco in the bronze medal match at Paris 2024 on Thursday.

He was forced to leave the pitch just 10 minutes into the game without specifying the extent of his injury.

"Zizo has suffered a hamstring tear and will need around three weeks to recover," Egypt U-23 doctor Tarek Soliman told an Egyptian radio station on Monday.

The 28-year-old was one of Egypt's two senior players who joined the U-23 squad for the Olympics, alongside former Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny.

Zizo produced a convincing performance, helping the team reach the semi-finals before ultimately finishing in fourth place in the tournament.
